Being confident
Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
David Meece back around 2004 came to Australia and I took Shell and the kids to Toowoomba to see him in concert. I have been a fan, more so of his lyrics ever since his Candle In The Rain album. He is a man that has been through what I would call hell on earth. I encourage you to look up his testimony and if you ever get a chance to see him in concert, to do so. During the concert he was playing the Piano and singing away as usual but mid – song he stopped..... he got up and walked to front of the stage, the crowd was silent, and he said the following, “most people give up right before their breakthrough.” I will never forget those words and the way he stood up mid – song Holy Spirit led and made that statement. Little did I know that over the next fourteen years I like many of you out there I would be on a roller coaster ride that I would describe as the test of a lifetime. This test is what Jesus calls a good work. Is it easy, no , no not at all, are we being refined, yes we are, is it worth it ,yes it will be and if you asked David Meece I’m sure, beyond all doubt he would say absolutely. God bless you Dave you have been an inspiration.
We stand at the most pivotal point of all time, the world; our world is in turmoil, lost almost beyond finding. Another scripture springs to mind, the words of the King from the book of Revelation.
I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.
This scripture clearly tells us of a people at Christ’s return that are purely serving the man of sin. I write this article though as an encouragement only and I emphasise (but thou art rich) Christ is telling us he knows the evil Satan is working through such people but he wants us to remain focussed on him. Take from the book of Revelation as follows.
11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
Faithful and true is Christ at time when the scripture tells us that Brother will give up Brother, so who should we focus on....???? Pure is the colour white and the horse he rides is this colour. I’m writing these words inspired by the word, and words of Christ not the fake false promises of man, and I encourage you to press on.
I have watched for many years people come and go, I have failed myself at times and not wanting to continue but have done so, I thank God for a Mother who spoke the scriptures into my life as a young lad, that coupled together with a young mind help lay the foundation for the tools needed to get through times in which we live today filled with confusion and very often frustration.
Good Work
Colossians 1:10
That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God.
As the world continues on its path of confusion we are called to stay focussed on the task of being fruitful in our works. A few years ago I heard a story about a Christian man who one day shared an elevator ride with the rock star Prince. He got into a conversation with Prince about Jesus and how we all need him, Prince returned with the following statement, “Do you know how much money I have, I don’t need God.” That man possibly walked out of that elevator disappointed with the statement that he received from Prince, BUT....check out the article below, I don’t believe his words fell on Prince’s deaf ears, I think he was listening loud and clear.
Remember people, he has begun a good work in us not only for our benefit but for the man that spoke to Prince, “Being confident”, gave Prince a chance to re - think his position. We sometimes never find out how important a word we speak is or an action we make has on the people we come across. Often it has great influence, sometimes on the people we would deem untouchable.
