I have heard it asked many times, where do you fellowship?, the person expecting an answer to come with a denomination attached. The correct question should be, do you fellowship ? From now on my answer to either of these questions will be, I fellowship with the father and I do this with anyone that the Lord directs me to, because I will be lead by his spirit, and his spirit only. Time today is so precious that I find myself only spending time in fellowship with people that are purely word of God based only, the whole word of God not bits and pieces that suit the reader half the time.
The very things that tend to hold us back from Gods true purpose are these stupid security blankets that we take hold of during the course of our lives for what ever reason. Its not going to help us to sit on Facebook and tell the world about what we had for breakfast or to watch a so called new season of a cooking show that ends up being exactly the same as the previous 4 seasons. In Isaiah ch 19 v 3 We read, "And the spirit of Egypt shall fail in the midst thereof, and I will destroy the counsel thereof, and they shall seek to the idols, and to the charmers, and to them that have familiar spirits, and to the wizards," This scripture speaks of familiar spirits. Have some of us become so accustomed to sitting down of an evening with the remote or mouse ? These things are simply the familiar distractions Satan uses to dumb the Lords people down. So many people I hear today talk as if these television shows are the be all and end all. Facebook, Twitter, Youtube etc, are not building our relationship with the Father in Heaven. So many people are chasing the dream of money fame or some kind of fortune, trying to climb ladders at work or in Church when God has placed no ladders in Church anyway. Relationship is where it is at, relationship with him. The Lord, Jesus, Holy Spirit engulfing us, all other things will fade off into the background when we seek this relationship.
The purpose of this article is to challenge. Recently I came across some teaching that did this very thing...challenged Me, I have been after more than the usual distractions of life for a long time. So here it is. The Lords prayer in Mathew says this.....in earth as it is in heaven. Now Jesus was telling the disciples to pray like this, His will is to have heaven come to earth. Heaven in earth. In Luke ch 4, Jesus was teaching, and soon those in the synagogue came in anger, ran him out of town to a cliff where they were going to deal with him. In verse 30 it reads. "But he passing through the midst of them went his way." Again he was preaching a confronting truth that people didn't like which is exactly what we are to do in these last days, not worrying about the consequences but understanding that when it looks like we are finished, that is the very time through Christ we will turn and walk through the midst of the confrontation. There are followers of Christ engaging in this very realm today and encouraging others to do so as it will be, what I believe the very realm that saves us from the evil one in the last days and allowing us to endure to the end.
On Wednesday night last week at around 2 am in the morning, I was woken and attacked in the mind from the demonic, I couldn't get any immediate peace so I began to call upon the Lord to defend me. Praying for about 7 minutes or so pleading with the Lord to do something I remembered one of the scriptures that was mentioned in this teaching that I have been listening to. This was the scripture. Isaiah ch 59 v 19 " So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and his glory from the rising sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him." Now this Teacher was saying that the comma was in the wrong spot after the word, 'flood' and that it should be after the word,' in.' This changes the flood to be the Lords doing not the enemies. I remembered this and said, " Lord would you come like a flood as the enemy is attacking me. About five seconds later the Lord not only came he took me away in the spirit and gave me a vision, when he placed me back into my body I was so at peace that it was like the world was far from me and nothing could touch me. I also felt like I had the best nights sleep in my whole entire life, from being attacked to the best nights sleep. Thank God. This Teacher tells of how when he and his team were in the Pyramids of Egypt and one of the Muslim Guards realizing they were Christians took them at gun point to a place not permitted for the public. It was a Star Gate, The Guard said, " You Christian, you pray, you pray" while pointing at the gate. He was very concerned about what came in and out of that gate from another realm. They did pray and shut down the gate. One Muslim Guard had a peaceful night on watch thanks to a few guys in touch with their purpose in God. Jesus in John 14 said this. "Verily, verily, I say unto you He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also, and GREATER works than these shall he do, because I go unto my father".
The Church unfortunately is so distracted today with the twisting of the scriptures like, all shall be added unto you, interpreting it to suit themselves as they are basically after a $ or 2, or a ladder to climb, when we should be preparing ourselves in relationship to do greater things not just for the Lord but so he can protect us. Soon the true believer should no longer require the material things of this world as he or she will have to take a mark to keep them. Jesus said in John ch 5 v 19. " Then answered Jesus and said unto them, verily, verily I say unto you, The son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do, for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the son likewise." Jesus was so in tune with the Fathers will that I believe the Father let him walk to the cliff and then he instructed him to turn and walk back through the crowd as easily as that.
Its time to do greater things, its time for a closer relationship, its time to do nothing except what we see the Father do. No more distractions. Then he will guide our path.
