(NOTE: Thanks to all of you who helped send a truckload of bread to Harlem. Watch! This.)
Some of the most intolerant people I have ever met are the ones who scream the loudest about the need for Christians to be tolerant.
It seems as if they want us to hold to certain Christian beliefs and behaviors, but only the ones that they deem we should follow.
Have you ever noticed this? The big-government social justice crowd loves to laud the fact that government should adhere to the Biblical belief that the poor need to be taken care of. I often hear from them. “Coach Dave, as a Christian you should be concerned about the poor.”
I am concerned about the poor. I just happen to think it is the job of the individual Christian and the collective churches to do the job, not the government. “It is not the government’s right to take from one person and give to another. If I did it in my personal life they would charge me with stealing.”
Forcefully taking from one, (government) and giving to another, (welfare) violates the 10 Commandments. The Bible teaches that one should give willingly to meet the needs of his neighbor. In fact, if the government didn’t steal so much money from the average American through taxation there would be a lot more money available for the individual to give to the needy.
That’s why a true democracy is so dangerous. Putting an issue on the ballot and then voting 51% - 49 % to take money out of my pocket to pay for local education is a violation of the Biblical admonition not to covet. Voting to take money out of my pocket against my will is thievery.
We do it all the time…permit the progressives to use the Bible to force us to violate our conscience. You see, there are certain Christian behaviors that they want us to follow and certain ones they don’t want us to follow.
For instance, I think abortion is a violation of God’s laws regarding murder. But every time I bring it up I am told that there is a separation between the church and the state and that I cannot force someone to follow my religious beliefs.
Yet those same people want to steal from me to take care of the poor. If there is a separation between the church and the state why should big-government tell me that it is my moral obligation to take care of the poor. What are they basing their morality on? Does a majority vote determine right and wrong?
The Bible very clearly teaches that homosexual sodomy is a sin. But the libs will tell me that I am “not supposed to judge.” Calling homosexuality sinful, according to them, is not a very Christian thing to do. Christians are to love and forgive, they tell me. Can’t you see the trick? They have mastered using the Bible to guilt-trip us into accepting things that the Bible calls sinful. Sodomy is good. Speaking against it is bad. My calling homosexuality sin is “judgmental.” Them calling me “judgmental” is not judgmental.
As you are probably aware I am an “edgy” Christian. I am not afraid of controversy and I am not afraid to speak my mind. My job, as I see it, is to make people think. Agreeing with me is not a requisite to appreciate my positions. That is what makes debate important.
Free speech and open debate is what the First Amendment used to be all about. Look no further than the Obama Care and you will see government-defined morality run amuck. The government has determined that there is a “right” to health care. Therefore, they will cajole and coerce me into paying for it. After all, you aren’t against people having health care, are you?
No, but you aren’t against unborn babies living, are you? You see where this is heading, don’t you? They get to determine which moral beliefs are valid and which ones the government will enforce. The Bible used to determine morality in America. Unfortunately, the god-haters have scared us into the closet. I’m sick and tired of non-Christians determining how a Christian should react.
So I have come up with a response that really ticks the libs off and you have my permission to use it. Here is it is, but let me warn you, it really pisses them off. Use at your own risk.
“I’m sorry, but I was born this way.”
Because of what I do my inbox is often filled with rants from those who do not appreciate what I say. Especially my videos…they hate my videos. Go here if you have never seen them. They hate the logic that I use. Most libs have no logic, only feelings.. Here are a few recent emails I have received. I usually don’t answer them, but from now on I think I will.
“Coach you are the biggest piece of s---t on the internet. I don’t know how you get away with some of the horse s---t that you say. You are one stupid m-ther f—k-r.” Joe
My response. “Sorry Joe, I was born this way.”
“I can’t believe that ignorant b-st-rds like you are free to spew your hate on the internet. Anybody with half of an education knows that homosexuals are born that way and there is nothing anyone can do to change them. Why don’t you get your head out of you’re a—and understand things are changing.” William.
“Sorry William. I was born this way.”
“Your mother should have aborted you, you hateful bigoted a—hole. Many of my friends were molested as young boys and they say it was usually a coach who did it. Is that why you went into coaching so that you could f—k little boys. I hope you end up in prison and get molested by a big hairy animal you d—kh—d.” Robert
“I’m sorry Robert, but I was born this way.”
You get the point. I get hundreds of them. Those who demand tolerance are the most intolerant. But they don’t scare me. I can take it as well as I can dish it out. Too bad the little weenie name-callers can’t. They love hiding behind their keyboards. It gives them a sense of power.
The anti-bully acolytes are the biggest bullies of all.
Unfortunately, the government has adopted the same tactics. Have you ever seen anything like the name calling that elected officials are doing in regards to citizens they are sworn to represent? They are the ones who are the bullies. They are the ones who are intolerant. They are the ones trying to force US to change. So, let’s throw the argument right back at them. I was born this way…I can’t change. Why are you so judgmental of me and what I believe? Why is it that Christians are the only one’s expected to change what they believe?
I will never accept a woman’s “right” to choose. I will never accept the “right” for a man to marry a man. I will never accept an individual’s “right” to healthcare, a job, or an Obamaphone. I will never accept the opinions of the Supreme Court over the opinion of the Supreme Being.
God rules the universe whether you acknowledge it or not. His “natural laws” hold everything together. Breaking those laws have consequences. I agree with him. I’m on His side. It is just that the consequences aren’t always immediately seen. There is a payday coming…even for the libs. Your opinion of God does not alter His opinion of you. Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness are three rights clearly spelled out in the Declaration of Independence. Life and liberty are rights, happiness is a pursuit. We have the God-endowed right to pursuit…but no guarantee of obtaining happiness.
Speaking the truth makes me happy. I pursue the truth daily.
You don’t like what I say? You don’t like the way I think? You don’t think my attitudes are very “Christian?” Well, who are you to judge, partner?I’m sorry, but I was born this way.
