Prophetic Events – The Little Horn

This article represents a new teaching series that we will run
in Omega Times to provide help and understanding pertaining to
the sub-title of this magazine, which is of course, "World events
in the light of Bible prophecy." If we have little, or no
understanding of Bible prophecy, then it follows that those
outstanding prophetic events that have recently been fulfilled,
or are in the process of being fulfilled, will be entirely
meaningless, or have little impact on us or our lives. For the
unbeliever, that is to be expected, but for the Christian, that
is a tragedy.

In 3 of the 4 Gospels, Jesus Himself counsels us to be
prepared for His 2nd advent. Matthew 24:42 says –
"Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is
coming." This is all the more important in these last days,
because we at Omega Times discern a growing deception over the
Church, aimed especially at leaders, to blind them of the
importance of the times, so that the last thing on their mind is
to think about or teach and preach these subjects. The
disinterest in End Time events amongst Christian leaders is at an
all-time high.

Water runs downhill, so if the leaders can be compromised,
then so too will most of the sheep. The Church, by and large, is
asleep, unready for the Lord’s return, and the enemy of the
Church, knowing his time is short, is sending unprecedented
hordes of lying and deceiving demonic spirits into the world for
the very purpose to catch the elect unawares.

When one becomes interested in Bible teaching on End Times
prophecy, it is inevitable that initially at least, one would get
bogged down by the imagery, the unusual depictions, and the
seemingly disconnected way in which the Book of Revelation in
particular, presents to us, the amazing vision and inspired
Scripture given to the Apostle John when exiled on the Island of
Patmos. That is why the teaching of these things is of paramount
importance after the Gospel message has been received.

In our last issue, there was an exciting letter sent to us by
Paul Jones, who brought a fresh focus as to the scenario which
will fulfil the prophetic words regarding the 10 horns. For the
purpose of understanding, any mention of a horn in the Bible is
usually indicative of rule and power. Before we share some
thoughts on the "Beast Kingdom" vision from the book of Daniel, I
will retrace the thoughts contained in the letter just
mentioned.

The scenario from Daniel speaks of 10 horns, with a single
horn that will arise and subdue 3 horns. Barry Smith’s
first book "Warning" touched on this subject over 20 years ago,
and he connected this with the EU as a strong possibility in
being the entity to fulfil the prophecy. We now have another
scenario to think about. The United Nations is militarily under
control of the UN Security Council. (5 permanent members + 10
elected members.) They are still talking about reforming the
Council and adding 5 more permanent members. The current
situation and the possible changes are as follows –

Current Permanent Members – France, China, Russian
Federation, USA, UK.

Proposed new Permanent Members – Japan, Germany, Brazil,
India + one seat from Africa (maybe Nigeria or South Africa).

If this happens the 10 permanent members would become 10
nation states who ‘control’ the peace of the world.
Significantly, 3 of those states would include France, UK and
Germany – all part of the EU.

If you take the list of current permanent members, and add the
5 that are being talked about, it is interesting to note that 6
of the 10 are VERY individual and without any strong reasons to
link themselves in a closer arrangement. (eg. China, Russia,
Japan) However, it is interesting to note that in this group are
3 EU members. Could it be possible that after expansion the 3
separate EU countries in the UN Security Council will be
‘subdued’ and replaced by the EU? Having Germany,
France and the UK in the Security Council as 3 separate
identities really makes no sense if they are already under the
ultimate control of the EU.

With this thought in mind, let’s look closely at the
Scriptures concerning the Beast kingdoms and the rise of the
little horn. Daniel 7:1-8 records the following:

1. In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon, Daniel
   had a dream and visions of his head while on his bed. Then he
   wrote down the dream, telling the main facts.
2. Daniel spoke, saying, "I saw in my vision by night, and
   behold, the four winds of heaven were stirring up the Great
   Sea.
3. And four great beasts came up from the sea, each
   different from the other.
4. The first was like a lion, and had eagle’s wings. I
   watched till its wings were plucked off; and it was lifted up
   from the earth and made to stand on two feet like a man, and a
   man’s heart was given to it.
5. "And suddenly another beast, a second, like a bear. It was
   raised up on one side, and had three ribs in its mouth between
   its teeth. And they said thus to it: ‘Arise, devour much
   flesh!’
6. "After this I looked, and there was another, like a leopard,
   which had on its back four wings of a bird. The beast also had
   four heads, and dominion was given to it.
7. "After this I saw in the night visions, and behold, a fourth
   beast, dreadful and terrible, exceedingly strong. It had huge
   iron teeth; it was devouring, breaking in pieces, and trampling
   the residue with its feet. It was different from all the beasts
   that were before it, and it had ten horns.
8. I was considering the horns, and there was another horn, a
   little one, coming up among them, before whom three of the first
   horns were plucked out by the roots. And there, in this horn,
   were eyes like the eyes of a man, and a mouth speaking pompous
   words. "

While Daniel is seeing this fourth Beast Kingdom arise with 10
horns, he sees something else. He sees another horn, or a little
horn arising, and as it does so, it plucks out 3 of the other
existing horns. They have either been replaced or restored,
because the final scenario in Revelation 13:1-2 shows 10 horns
all in place and in power along with the Beast.

1. "Then I stood on the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast
   rising up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and
   on his horns ten crowns, and on his heads a blasphemous
   name.
2. Now the beast which I saw was like a leopard, his feet were
   like the feet of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion.
   The dragon gave him his power, his throne, and great authority.
   "

This scripture demonstrates the "hand-in-glove" relationship
between the Book of Daniel and the Book of Revelation. They are
symbiotic in the sense one cannot survive (be interpreted)
without the other. Daniel confirms Revelation and Revelation
confirms Daniel. The 4 creatures of the Beast Kingdom of Daniel
are revisited upon us in Revelation.

The Image from
Nebuchadnezzar's Dream

Within the Book of Daniel itself, Nebuchadnezzar saw an image
which Daniel interpreted for him as representative of 4 world
kingdoms that would exist from that time. Then at a later time,
Daniel receives the revelation of the Beast Kingdoms as recorded
above, and has confirmed for him in Daniel 7:17 that these 4
great beasts, are indeed representative of 4 kings which will
arise out of the earth.

The Beast Kingdom vision of Daniel not only brings a new Bible
metaphor in describing world kingdoms, but actually confirms that
the kingdoms shown both to Nebuchadnezzar and Daniel are in fact,
one and the same. These are 4 world empires that will dominate
the world in their time. For the purpose of those who are not
aware of these, let me record them.

Nebuchadnezzar’s head of Gold and Daniel’s Lion
represent Babylon. The chest and arms of the image, and the Bear
represent Medo-Persia.

The thighs in Nebuchadnezzar’s image and the Leopard
correlate with Greece, and the legs of the image and the Beast
are symbolic of Rome. (Please see the inserted graphic for
further clarity) The toes in Nebuchadnezzar’s image are
iron mixed with clay, indicating a revived Roman empire in the
last days which has strength (iron) but also inherent weakness
(clay).

However, Daniel received a greater revelation than
Nebuchadnezzar received. The image the King saw had 10 toes. He
did not see another "little toe" arising out of the ten already
there, these 10 being the last days expression of the final
man-controlled Kingdom. That alone was reserved for Daniel to
see, but was symbolized for him by horns, not toes.

This little horn is significantly different from the other
horns however. It has the "EYES of a man" and the "MOUTH of a
man." It can see and it can speak, attributes which are not
mentioned as being given to the original 10 horns. Although John
the Revelator also sees a Beast with 7 heads and 10 horns, he
does not record this little horn as such. Yet Daniel’s
account and John’s account of these 2 visions are so close
we should see clearly and immediately they are speaking of the
same individual – the Antichrist. (See chart below)

The Little Horn is the Antichrist. Therefore the 10 toes on
Nebuchadnezzar’s image are indicative of the same thing - a
revived Roman Empire led by the Antichrist. He will subdue 3
Kings so 7 are left, with Revelation showing the complete 10 are
there. Paul’s writing to the church in Thessalonica gives
additional information, where he writes in 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12
and says the Antichrist will arise out of apostate Christendom.
He is the ultimate seed of the serpent. (Genesis 3:15)

The Little Horn is a real person. This entity is not just a
system, a spirit or a person – it is all of these things.
That is why it is wrong to try to simply identify the Antichrist
as one person. The number 666 not only can apply to persons but
systems and titles- eg. Kissinger, Gorbachev, Computer, Bill
Clinton, Hilary Clinton, Filii Vicarious Dei,
Ratsinger,…

The manifestation of the Little Horn, who we now know as the
Antichrist will be accompanied by radical change. Daniel 7:25
records that –

"He shall speak pompous words against the Most High, Shall
persecute the saints of the Most High, And shall intend to change
times and law. Then the saints shall be given into his hand for a
time and times and half a time."

We are seeing such preliminary moves now. Brian Hay wrote
about the Moon Calendar in issue Vol 1, No 1, which recorded that
the UN are already considering one of the above, changing our
Julian calendar from 12 months to a Moon calendar of 13 months!!!
We are seeing the beginning of a flood of laws which no longer
reflect the Judeo-Christian ethic, but are Laws of Humanism and
Ecology. They are being passed in increasing numbers. I wrote an
article several issues back concerning the Georgia Guidestones,
which are an overt sign of a covert strategy to change the
Biblical 10 commandments to the 10 commandments of the New Age!
All these things are signs of the end.

The Little Horn makes war with the saints. These are the
Remnant of the Woman’s seed in Revelation 12:17. The
Antichrist will be in power at the second coming of the Lord
Jesus Christ. His dictatorship will feature spiritual rulership
by the False Prophet who will head up a "One World Church." The
False Prophet will introduce Image Worship on pain of death (Rev
13) in a reprise of the actions of Nebuchadnezzar in the Book of
Daniel.

We have enough information now to see that the FOUR Beast
Kingdoms of Daniel flow into the ONE Beast Kingdom of the
Antichrist in Revelation. The prophet Hosea in Hosea 13:7-9,
links these 4 beasts together relative to the nation of
Israel.

"So I will be to them like a LION; Like a LEOPARD by the
road I will lurk; I will meet them like a BEAR deprived of her
cubs; I will tear open their rib cage, and there I will devour
them like a lion. The WILD BEAST shall tear them. O Israel, you
are destroyed, but your help is from Me. I will be your
King;"

The 4 Beast Kingdoms were all involved in devouring Israel.
Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece and Rome all played a part in
working judgement and discipline on the people of God. The
revived Roman Antichrist Empire will be the last of these. It
will be the final opposition that Christ will face with satan,
who will rule indwelt in the very body of the Antichrist.
Inevitably this will leave only one standing after a battle of
monumental proportions. Thankfully, Christ has the victory!!
Hallelujah!

We can draw some conclusions from these prophetic words
presented to us from the Bible, regarding human history and the
time of Tribulation ahead.

While men see the Kingdoms of this world as good, God sees
these same Kingdoms as beastly in nature and character. Man
cannot save himself, redeem himself, or build anything that is
worthwhile, unless it is through the foundation of all things,
Jesus Christ. God is sovereign over all the affairs of mankind.
God sees the end from the beginning – that’s why the
prophetic word in the Bible ALWAYS comes true, because God knows
exactly how everything will come to pass.

All believers must make way for a theology of martyrdom for
Jesus said that the Christian would be hated of all nations for
His name’s sake. Today there is so much teaching on
prosperity and success motivation, but if that is doctrinally
correct, where do we allow for the 130,000 martyrs who die
ANNUALLY for their faith?

Our victory is in Christ. We are sojourners and pilgrims
looking for a city yet to come. Our true home is in heaven. The
final act is the 2nd coming when the Captain of our salvation
will crush the Kingdoms of this world. Then a millennial Kingdom
will be birthed on earth where mankind will see for the very
first time a restoration of all things and a loving Father ruling
in total power. Revelation 11:15-17 says -

"Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud
voices in heaven, saying, "The kingdoms of this world have become
the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign
forever and ever!" And the twenty- four elders who sat before God
on their thrones fell on their faces and worshiped God, saying:
"We give You thanks, O Lord God Almighty, The One who is and who
was and who is to come, Because You have taken Your great power
and reigned."
