The Jewish Temple
Omega Times July 1995
As we travel, we hear people
saying that the 3rd Jewish Temple will soon be built
to make way for the soon appearing Messiah. We know of course
that this is incorrect as Jesus is the Messiah and will build His
own Temple, upon his arrival at His second coming.
“And speak unto him, saying,
Thus speaketh the Lord of Hosts, saying, Behold the Man whose
name is The BRANCH; and He shall grow up out of His place, and He
shall build the temple of the Lord: Even He shall build the
temple of the Lord; and He shall bear the glory, and shall sit
and rule upon His throne; and he shall be a priest upon His
throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them
both.” Zechariah 6:12-13.
“After this I will return,
and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen
down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it
up…” Acts 15:16.
Note the following controversy
written up in the ‘Sunday Times’, Johannesburg,
14th May 1995 – “Anger flares over plan to
evacuate holy site. An Israeli plan to create an archaeological
park at the base of the Temple Mount, has run into fierce
opposition from Muslim religious authorities, and ironically,
from hard-line Jews.
The project aims to show tourists
the destruction of the Jewish Temple by the Romans in AD70 and
the remains of an early Muslim palace.
…The project has been
caught up in a wider international diplomatic battle over the
status of Jerusalem and Israel’s expropriation of the
land.
The mount is the accepted site of
the Jewish Temple, built by King Herod the Great. The high
esplanade is now occupied by the Al Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of
the Rock, which are considered Islam’s third holiest sites.
Outside, at the base of the mount, Jews pray at the Wailing Wall.
Gideon Avni, Jerusalem’s chief archaeologist, said one part
of the site would be excavated to show the Roman-ear street and
the pile of blocks of stone that crashed down when Roman soldiers
dismantled the temple.
…Muslim authorities deny
that Jewish people ever existed on the site, despite the
conclusion by most archaeologists, and are therefore suspicious
of any act that would strengthen Jewish claims.
…Since Israel captured East
Jerusalem and its holy sites in 1967, Jewish extremists have
campaigned for the right to pray on the Temple Mount. Some
zealots want to destroy the mosques and rebuild the Jewish
temple.
…The archaeological project
is part of the Jerusalem 3000 festivities, planned for the autumn
to celebrate three millenniums since King David conquered
Jerusalem. But the festival is being boycotted by the European
Union and the Vatican for fear that it will be used to strengthen
Israel’s claim to Eastern Jerusalem as part of its
“eternal and undivided capital”. End quote.
A number of points need to be
noted here.
-
The Jewish Temple site is
situated in line with the Golden Gate through which the Prince
(Messiah) will enter, therefore the Moslem mosques do not need to
come down. -
The third millennium from
David’s conquering of Jerusalem tells us that the Messiah,
Jesus is due to return. -
Whoever tries to settle the
Jerusalem problem will literally be destroyed. Only God Himself
can do this. “And in that day will I make Jerusalem a
burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with
it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be
gathered together against it.” Zechariah 12:3 -
The European Union led by the
Antichrist will have a Satanic desire to control this holy
city. -
The Pope and the Vatican have
plans also to completely control Jerusalem.
This holy city, being the
geographical centre of the earth, situated between the three
great continents will remain the world’s focal point, even
after Jesus returns.
