Dear Friends
Spring has arrived in New Zealand
– a most beautiful time of the year. And with so much to be
thankful for (some people love the winter… I’m glad
it has gone past) we move on to the time of fruit bearing and
harvest.
As per usual, there is so much to
write about that the difficulty becomes: where to assign space.
Please note the Omega Times questionnaire page inserted into this
months edition. We would really value you taking a couple of
minutes to give us your feedback; this in turn will provide for
us insight into where we can assist most in providing relevant
material in the future.
Recently, we received a newspaper
clipping talking about a betting webpage called ‘long term
bets’ – www.longbets.org. One bet/prediction read:
‘By 2025 at least half of all Americans will have some form
of technology embedded in their bodies for the purpose of
tracking and identification.’ The site is set up “Not
to merely gamble, but to ‘improve long-term
thinking.’” What use to be viewed as bizarre and
preposterous is now common discussion in the West. Given the
right set of global circumstances, I doubt we’ll be waiting
twenty-five years to see this technology turned from a voluntary
to a compulsory situation.
May I remind you that as time
passes, the governments of the world will continue their downward
spiral of creating poor/destructive policy, bringing with it
subsequent cost - which will be paid for within our societies. We
were not designed to ‘play God.’ The further from God
our leaders stray (based in their humanistic, evolutionary
thinking) the less likely it is that we will experience sound
judgement. It truly is seen as ‘the survival of the
fittest’ in the animal Kingdom.
In all of this we should not be
surprised or dismayed: Maranatha!
