Enemy of the State
For our Christian readers, are you
ready to be labelled as such, an ‘Enemy of the State? Are
you prepared to lose everything you own for the Gospel and Jesus?
What would losing your family, the car, house, your job and basic
human rights mean to you? Are you even aware that according to
the European Union, you as a Born Again bible believing Christian
already hold cult member status?
As world attention narrows and
begins to focus on the formation of the One World Government,
Satan will see that “the squeeze” is put on
“Born Again” Christians worldwide. The battle rages
fiercer now than ever before for the souls of men, and will
continue to worsen. The flood of demonic inspired standards will
bombard us on all sides through controls such as media and
Government. Will we accept what we are told and go quietly? Or
will we resist these influences. (Jesus speaking - Matthew 10:32-33 “Whosoever therefore shall confess me before
men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.
But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny
before my Father which is in heaven.”)
Therefore it was with much
interest I read an article posted on Xtra’s news page on
the 17th of May 2003 entitled “Is the Bible hate
literature.”
In brief, a Canadian gay Member of
Parliament Svend Robinson has introduced a bill that would make
it a crime punishable by up to two years imprisonment to incite
or promote hatred against homosexuals. Robinson strenuously
denied that in enforcing this legislation Pastors could be thrown
in jail and or have their scriptures banned or confiscated saying
“There’s not an attorney general in the country
anywhere at any level who would consent to the prosecution of an
individual for quoting from the Bible.”
His opponents however point to a
Court case in Saskatchewan five months earlier where the Judge
ruled that a biblical passage from Leviticus quoted in a
newspaper ad against homosexuality “exposes homosexuals to
hatred.”
The bill was to go to a final
committee at the end of May to decide whether it would die or
proceed to broader consideration by the Canadian Parliament.
Whether the bill is passed or not is irrelevant. The fact that it
was introduced is highly indicative of the times in which we
live; remember once more the term is “Gradually”. If
the bill fails this time it will be back perhaps in different
form or under a different name and not only in Canada. Such
legislation will force us to decide where we stand and how much
we love this life and its comforts.
One of the biggest reasons cited
for the millennia of persecution against the Jews is their
adherence to their own customs and religion which prevents them
from being absorbed into the cultures in which they live. You and
I are the “Jews” of the New Testament. Our customs
and religion prevent us from being absorbed into today’s
cultures and the soon to be One World Government, these customs
and our religion also mean that perhaps we will try to get others
to join with us and resist.
For this reason we are recognised
by the EU as a threat. By giving “Born Again”
Christian’s cult status gives an indication of and paves
the way for our future treatment. Not too far away we will be
faced with very difficult situations and decisions that will cost
us dearly if we stand for God.
The world we now live in is ruled
by ever maddening “political correctness”. To subject
ourselves to the full extent of this philosophy brings us into
conflict with the Word of God. For example, as Christians we
believe that God gave men the responsibility to head and lead the
family, that Muslims and Christians do not worship the same God,
nor is Islam a religion of peace, that immorality as listed in
Gods word (the Bible) is not acceptable.
To make a stand on simple issues
such as these will bring you into conflict with the current
politically correct environment and would put you in the firing
line for personal attack, rejection, shame, ridicule and
scorn.
But rejoice, knowing that someone
else endured these things first for us. Hebrews 12:3-4
“For consider him that endured such contradiction of
sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your
minds. Ye have not resisted unto blood, striving against
sin”.
What are we to do then?
To each, God has given us
different capabilities and talents. If we trust God and use our
individual capabilities to the best we can in His Word (The
Bible) and in prayer, He will do the rest to see that we stand.
If we stand on the truth, believe the truth and speak the truth
God will deliver, or see that we have the faith and strength to
face our trials.
Remembering that when Jesus was
faced with one of the most difficult and dangerous trials of his
ministry he relied solely upon the Word of God. (Matthew 4:9-10)
“All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down
and worship me. Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence Satan:
for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and Him
only shalt thou serve.
A word of caution in these evil
days. Jesus came to save all sinners, not just the ones
whose sins we find acceptable. Neither I nor the Omega Times
support knockers, those who use the Word of God to hurt or
destroy people for whom Christ died. To operate like this is
literally what the Canadian Bill suggests, that the Bible and
Christians are hateful.
Jesus ministered to us from a
position of love, forgiveness and understanding, something we
should always remember when speaking in His Name.
Remain meek and humble, do not
enter into futile arguments or try to justify your position. Let
God do the work through His own Word - remember our call is not
to win arguments but to make disciples.
