Soul for sale
This writer hesitates to call this young man "a fool" as
that puts me in danger of the judgement.
Daily Telegraph 8 June 2002: "Soul for sale to pay off
student debt -– A former student is offering the ultimate Faustian pact by
selling his soul on an internet auction site to help towards his college debts.
Graham Malham, 26, of Newcastle is asking 10pounds plus 'free
posting and packaging'. In exchange for his soul on the website eBay.
Mr. Malham, who describes himself as 'a complete atheist',
promises the buyer will receive a contract declaring the transfer of ownership
written in his blood.
The part-time photographic technician says he needs to pay
off the 10,000pound debt he accumulated while studying at Sunderland University.
'Four years of studying for an art degree have taken their
toll on my finances,' Mr. Malham said. 'I've been selling bits and pieces
like CDs to get by. I just sold my mobile phone on eBay. So I thought what else
could I sell?" "
Who knows the boy's background, that enabled him to
publicly show such a lack of wisdom.
Although he claims to be an atheist, the Bible tells us that
there is no such thing.
Romans 1:20 -– "For the invisible things of him from the
creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are
made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without
excuse:"
And again in Mark 8:36, a very serious question is asked: "For
what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own
soul?"
Actually, to ignore Christ and His salvation is almost as
serious, yet not quite so arrogant as this young man's public display of
childishness.
Eternity is for ever. May the Lord in His mercy give the boy
another chance, as the Bible description of hell terrifies this writer.
I am writing this article from Cornwall, Southern England,
where I have just watched a video of a man being raised from the dead, after
three days.
He tells of hell and its horrors and now lives extremely
carefully lest he return to that horrible place.
Reader, make heaven your destination.
Whatever the cost, make sure you go through that narrow gate.
Mathew 7:13 -– "Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide
is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there
be which go in thereat:"
