The next Pope
In the book of Revelation 13:1, we read of a man called
Anti-Christ who will arise and run the European Community:
"And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise
up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten
crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy."
This political leader is connected in some way to the city of
Rome through religion, and to the European Community in a tier of ten nations,
who will control world politics in this our day. It is of note also that he will
give allegiance to another man who has a blasphemous name applied to him.
We now turn to Revelation 13:11, and see a second world
leader arising:
"And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and
he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon."
This man is no doubt the religious counterpart of the
political beast, and the two of them will work together, bringing about a one
world government, a one world religious system, a one world monetary system and
a one world law system.
Those who study prophecy are in one accord, that the
religious system will be headquartered in the city of the seven hills, namely
Rome, where all religions will join together in the latter days and accept a
leader who is called the False Prophet.
With all this in mind, we now turn to our Dominion
newspaper, February 2, 2002, and read: "Papal contender pulls out of race."
It is clear that the present Pope is getting very old and frail, and as he
shuffles along in the shape of an old turtle almost at the end, the world is
watching to see who will take his position. We quote from the newspaper article:
"Cardinal Carlo Maria Martini, one of the favourites to succeed the Pope, has
revealed that, just a few days short of his 75th birthday, he is
suffering from a form of Parkinson's disease, like the ailing 82-year-old
pontiff....
Vatican insiders tip Cardinal Dionigi Tettamanzi, the
67-year-old Archbishop of Genoa, to be the new standard-bearer of the liberals
after his backing of anti-globalisation protesters at the Genoa G8 summit last
year..."
Not wishing to be a know-all, it would appear that these folk
who back Cardinal Dionigi are backing the wrong man, because he is on the side
of the anti-globalisation lobby which has no chance in the world, of winning.
The prophecies in the Scriptures make it clear. That there
will be a global government run by a man called Anti-Christ in league with a
religious man called the False Prophet, and they will arise in this our day, the
final generation just before Jesus comes back again.
Therefore, it is important that we keep watching and see who
the next man is to come to power, and watch the religions of the world linking
themselves under the power of this man, the Bible calls, the False Prophet.
