34 countries hide terrorists
The question may well be asked of the average world citizen:
"Who is George Bush going to attack first?" He has made it quite clear that
he will attack the terrorists and any country which shelters them, which
according to the Christchurch Press, 15 September 2001, includes the
following countries: "Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, Qatar,
Yemen, Jordan, Egypt, Libya, Lebanon, Algeria, Tunisia, Mauritania, Sudan,
Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Chechnya, Somalia, Eritrea, Kenya, Tanzania,
Uganda, Ethiopia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Uruguay, Ecuador, Bosnia, Kosovo,
Albania, Britain, Canada and the US."
"The report lists 19 near-Eastern terrorist organisations,
and ranks Al-Qaeda as the only one with an 'extremely high' terrorist
activity level.
Only two were ranked 'very high' -– the Palestinian
Islamic Jihad and Hamas, also a Palestinian organisation."
We feel sad that George Bush got excited and said that he
would attack every country that sheltered these people, for if this was the case
he would also have to bomb Great Britain and his own country, America. For it is
in those two countries that the pilots were trained before they hit the World
Trade Center.
This problem is beyond human understanding and therefore we
feel, as committed believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, that the best approach
would have been not prayers to remember the dead, but prayers and repentance and
asking for God's help at this time, for America is in a very sad state.
A verse in 2 Chronicles 7:14 seems to make sense at this time
and would be the only possible hope of America getting out of the problems that
confront it at the moment:
"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble
themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then
will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."
(emphasis added).
It seems very simple for a President to suggest such a thing
to the average American could possibly cause him to lose his job.
That is the state of the country which is now receiving the
judgement of Almighty God.
Let's pray that after the next strike, the people may be
more ready to listen to what God is saying, and seek Him with all their hearts.
In one of our books some time ago, we quoted the words of
Daisy Osborne, the wife of famous evangelist, T.L. Osborne, as in her article:
"I saw the face of the earth changing. People crying out in America and not
understanding what was happening to their great country."
When searching through my books for this statement, I turned
to page 133 in the book, The Devil's Jigsaw, and read:
"In the same month, the Time magazine quoted Louis
Farrakhan, US leader of the Nation of Islam speaking in Tehran. 'You can
quote me. God will destroy America at the hands of the Muslims.'"
And then I wrote underneath that: "What a nice man. And to
think the Americans still allow this gentleman to live on their soil."
