Killing rats may speed up disease

Some may say, "What a strange heading for a Christian
newspaper!" And yet there is a reason why we having included this herewith.

In the book of Revelation 18:8 we read, "Therefore shall
her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine, and she shall be
be utterly burned with fire, for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her."

It has been common knowledge for some time that Saddam
Hussein of Iraq is very angry with Great Britain and America for making a public
fool of him before the whole world. Along with his arsenal of chemicals weapons,
he also has some other nasty ideas in the form of Bubonic Plague, which he has
determined to send to these enemy countries of his.

During a preaching tour of Great Britain some years ago, I
pointed out to the people in our London lectures that in the year 1666 the great
plague of London hit and the only way the area could be cleansed was with fire.

David Wilkinson over the years in New York City has told us
that God has revealed to him many times a similar situation striking that great
city, New York. Therefore a careful reading of Revelation 18 would suggest to us
that this could be the scenario in the very near future.

Possibly, Saddam will send these over to America and have his
agents set them loose in the sewers of that great city of New York and thus
spread this dreadful plague right through that area, the home of Wall Street,
and the home also of the United Nations.

We quote from an article taken from the Daily Telegraph, 19
October 2000;

"Killing rats during an outbreak of bubonic plague may
actually speed up the spread of the disease.

A new mathematical model of the disease has shown that exterminating
infected rodents at the wrong time forces infected fleas to seek out people
instead.

The research also found that human vaccines for the plague,
which still infects hundreds of people very year, would never eradicate the
disease.

Bubonic plague is spread from rats to people by fleas
infected with the bacterium Yersinia pestis.

After the major epidemic of 1347-51, in which a third of
the population of Europe died, the disease followed a distinctive pattern.

Many cities, including London, experienced a new outbreak
every 10 to 12 years, despite tight quarantines..." End Quote.

Those who have a strong faith in our Lord Jesus Christ and
who have had a born again experience will not fear all these things which are
coming on the earth, because the Word of God points out that prior to a period
called the Great Tribulation there will be another period of three and a half
years called Beginning of Sorrows.

It has been noted over the years that during times of stress
and problem people tend to seek out the spiritual aspect to their life and
therefore any problems like these occurring around the world can only bring
about blessing with regard to the Kingdom of God.
